Shalini Singh: Remains Found in Canada, Believed to Be Missing Woman
Partial human remains discovered at a landfill in Canada are suspected to belong to Shalini Singh, an Indian-origin woman who has been missing since December 2024. Hamilton Police are awaiting DNA confirmation, a process that could take several weeks.
The Disappearance
Shalini Singh, a mental health care worker, was reported missing on December 10th. She last spoke with her family on December 4th and was last seen entering her apartment on December 2nd.
The Search
Homicide detectives have been conducting an extensive search at the Glanbrook Landfill on Haldibrook Road since February 24th. The search period, initially scheduled to conclude on April 18th, was extended by two weeks.
Family's Grief
Shalini Singh's parents were informed of the discovery of the remains on May 21st. Recalling the last phone call, her mother spoke of her daughter repeatedly saying, "I love you, mom."
Investigation Continues
Authorities are still investigating the circumstances surrounding Shalini Singh's disappearance. Her boyfriend, who was also initially missing, was later located but did not cooperate with the investigation.
