Cargo Ship Fire in North Pacific: Crew Rescued
A dramatic rescue operation took place in the North Pacific Ocean after a cargo ship, identified as the Morning Midas, experienced a fire onboard.
Incident Details
The incident occurred approximately 300 miles south of Adak, Alaska. The vessel was carrying around 3,000 vehicles destined for Mexico.
Unable to control the escalating fire, the 22 crew members were forced to abandon ship and seek refuge in a lifeboat.
Rescue Operation
The U.S. Coast Guard responded to the distress call and successfully rescued all 22 crew members from the lifeboat.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
