Cargo Ship Fire Off Alaska: Salvage Operation Underway
A salvage crew has been dispatched to the location of a cargo ship fire that broke out approximately 300 miles south of Adak, Alaska.
Incident Details
The cargo vessel, identified as Morning Midas, experienced a fire that the crew was unable to contain. As a result, the crew abandoned the ship. The incident occurred on June 3, 2025.
Cargo and Destination
The vessel was transporting approximately 3,000 vehicles with a final destination of Mexico.
U.S. Coast Guard Involvement
The U.S. Coast Guard has released images showing smoke rising from the Morning Midas.
