The public disagreement between Donald Trump and Elon Musk has resulted in US Vice President JD Vance announcing his support for Trump. Vance praised Trump's leadership and emphasized his commitment to standing by him.
"President Trump has done more than any person in my lifetime to earn the trust of the movement he leads. I'm proud to stand beside him,” Vance posted on X.
The conflict arose after Trump praised Musk at an event, but then they disagreed over a government spending bill. The two appeared aligned when Musk stepped down from his role last Friday.
Tensions peaked when Musk attacked Trump’s budget deal on X, calling it a “disgusting abomination.” Trump later admitted their relationship might be over.
The verbal clash escalated online, with Musk accusing Trump of ingratitude. He claimed, “Without me, Trump would have lost the election,” and that Trump was upset due to electric vehicle policies affecting Tesla.
Trump retaliated, claiming he revoked Musk’s “EV mandate” and threatened to cut off government subsidies.
Musk also alleged that Trump’s name appears in the sealed Epstein files and agreed with an X user calling for Trump's impeachment and Vance's replacement as vice president.
