Trump Hints at Iran Regime Change After US Air Strikes

Following US air strikes in Iran, Donald Trump hinted at potential regime change, despite his administration claiming the operation targeted nuclear sites only.

Trump Suggests Possible Regime Change in Iran After Air Strikes

Former US President Donald Trump has hinted at a potential regime change in Iran following recent US air strikes targeting Iranian nuclear sites. This comes in the wake of Operation Midnight Hammer.

Trump's Statement on Truth Social

Trump's post on his Truth Social platform questioned the lack of regime change if Iran's current leaders couldn't improve the nation. He slightly altered his famous campaign slogan, suggesting, "if the current Iranian Regime is unable to MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN, why wouldn’t there be a Regime change??? MIGA."

Administration's Stance

Members of Trump's administration, including Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, previously stated that Operation Midnight Hammer only aimed to target nuclear facilities, such as Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, and was not meant to topple the Iranian government.

Official Statements

Hegseth emphasized that the mission's purpose was never about regime change. Vance clarified that the goal was to end Iran's nuclear program and open discussions for a long-term settlement. Rubio also stated that the air strikes were not an attack on Iran or its people, rejecting any notion of a regime-change operation.
