A United States Marine Corps veteran, Alejandro Barranco, has expressed his deep disappointment and anger after his father was allegedly assaulted and arrested by masked federal officials during an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) workplace raid in Santa Ana, California.

Details of the Incident

According to Alejandro Barranco, his father, Narciso Barranco, was detained while working as a landscaper. A video of the incident shows several masked individuals in tactical gear pinning the elder Barranco to the ground, striking him. Some were wearing gear marked “US Border Patrol Police.” He was then forced into an unmarked vehicle.

Veteran's Response

Alejandro Barranco, who served four years as a Marine, stated his father "just got scared when confronted by masked men with big guns," refuting claims that his father attacked an agent with a weed whacker. The DHS claims that Narciso Barranco is currently in ICE custody.
