Moscow Airport Attack: Toddler in Coma After Being Thrown to Floor
A shocking incident occurred at a Moscow international airport, leaving an 18-month-old child in critical condition.
Details of the Attack
The suspect, identified as Vladimir Vitkov, a 31-year-old from Belarus, violently attacked the toddler, who had recently arrived from Iran with his pregnant mother. The child suffered severe injuries and is now in a coma.
"This is incredibly difficult to bear," said Ksenia Mishonova, the Moscow Region Children’s Ombudswoman.
Investigation and Suspect
Vitkov was immediately detained. Investigations revealed cannabis in his system, and authorities suspect drug intoxication played a role. He is now being investigated for attempted murder.
Aftermath
The child remains in critical condition at a local hospital. Authorities are also exploring potential racial motives.
