Rep. Cory Mills denies accusations of releasing intimate content, blaming a political rival. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating.
Florida Rep. Cory Mills is at the center of a controversy following accusations of releasing private images and videos of a former girlfriend. The allegations surfaced after their breakup and were initially reported to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office.
Mills has strongly refuted the claims, calling them "false" and asserting that he has "always conducted himself with integrity."
The case has been transferred to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. The department has declined to comment due to the ongoing investigation.
Mills alleges that Anthony Sabatini, a Lake County commissioner and former political rival, is orchestrating a smear campaign against him. Mills claims Sabatini is "weaponizing the legal system" to attack him politically.
The complainant, a 25-year-old, stated that she moved to Columbia County after reports surfaced about another woman described as Mills' girlfriend. She alleges that Mills threatened to release intimate content.
Mills represents Florida's 7th District, which spans from Orlando to the Daytona Beach area.
