LSU Freshman Arrested for Harboring Murder Suspects

LSU freshman running back, JT Lindsey, faces serious charges after being accused of harboring two murder suspects in his dorm room. The incident has led to his arrest and suspension from the LSU football team.

Details of the Arrest

Lindsey turned himself in on an arrest warrant and is now facing two felony counts of accessory after the fact to second-degree murder. He was later released from East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a $5,000 bond. The university has suspended him from all football activities pending the resolution of the charges.

Suspects and Allegations

The individuals Lindsey is accused of harboring are Shemell Jacobs, 17, and Keldrick Jordan, 18, both from Alexandria, Louisiana. They were wanted in connection to the shooting death of 17-year-old Corey Brooks in May. Authorities believe they stayed at Lindsey's on-campus dorm for nearly two weeks.

Lindsey's Defense

Lindsey's lawyer, Kris Perret, asserts his client's innocence, stating that he was unaware of his friends being wanted for murder. He claims Lindsey was at football camp when the events unfolded and is fully cooperating with the authorities to clear his name.

Police Warning

Following the initial warrants, the Alexandria Police Chief issued a stern warning against anyone found harboring the suspects.

LSU has stated that they are aware of the situation but will refrain from further comment out of respect for the legal process.
