Elon Musk threatens Apple with an antitrust lawsuit, claiming unfair App Store rankings favor OpenAI and disadvantage xAI's Grok chatbot.
Elon Musk, founder of xAI, is threatening legal action against Apple over alleged antitrust violations concerning the App Store rankings of his AI chatbot, Grok.
Musk claims Apple is behaving in a way that prevents AI companies other than OpenAI from reaching the top spot in the App Store. He argues this constitutes a clear antitrust violation.
In a post on X, Musk questioned why Apple hasn't included X or Grok in its "Must Have" section, given that X is the leading news app worldwide and Grok is ranked fifth among all apps. He suggested political motives behind the decision.
"Apple is behaving in a manner that makes it impossible for any AI company besides OpenAI to reach #1 in the App Store, which is an unequivocal antitrust violation. xAI will take immediate legal action," Musk stated.
