Police in New Zealand's Hutt Valley have apprehended a man following a disturbing incident that left an infant with severe injuries. Authorities were called to a home in the Avalon area on Thursday morning, responding to a report of a disorder.

Investigation and Charges

Upon their arrival, officers were made aware of a baby who had allegedly sustained intentional harm. The critically injured infant was immediately transported to hospital for urgent medical attention, where they remain in a serious condition.

A 30-year-old man was arrested at the scene. He has since been charged with four counts of injuring with intent to injure and is scheduled to reappear in the Hutt Valley District Court on December 1.
