Twitch Streamer Nina Lin Faces Shoplifting Accusations on Live Stream

Twitch and TikTok personality Nina Lin is once again at the center of online controversy, this time facing allegations of shoplifting during a live stream. A 52-second clip, originally from her November 29, 2025 broadcast, rapidly spread across social media platform X (formerly Twitter) the following day.

Viral Video Shows Alleged Shoplifting Incident

The now-viral video purportedly shows Lin at a Target self-checkout station. She is seen with two items: a pack of steak and a pack of butter. On-screen text accompanying the clip claims that she only scanned the barcode for the butter before placing both items into her bag. The footage was shared by X user @NotUlxa, who explicitly stated Lin was “caught shoplifting live on stream,” leading to a flurry of shares and reactions across the platform.

Online users were quick to voice their opinions, with many calling for Twitch to issue a permanent ban. Some speculated that Twitch would require Target to press charges before taking disciplinary action, while others expressed disbelief at someone allegedly shoplifting with a live chat witnessing the act. The incident also reignited discussions about the perceived vulnerability of self-checkout systems to theft. As of now, Nina Lin has not publicly addressed these serious allegations.

A String of Recent Controversies

This shoplifting claim is the latest in a series of highly publicized incidents involving Nina Lin. Just prior to this, another video of her went viral, where she made puzzling comments about her dating life. In the clip, she told viewers that if she developed feelings for someone, she would “go to jail” and ominously stated, “by any means, anything will happen” when she loves someone. These remarks left many online users confused and taken aback.

Adding to the drama, fellow streamer John “Tectone” reacted to her dating comments, controversially referring to her as a “transgender dude who openly SA’d two guys on stream.” This inflammatory statement further fueled the existing online backlash against Lin.

Earlier still, Nina Lin garnered significant attention for an “IRL” (in real life) stream incident where viewers felt she crossed boundaries with two male streamers. These previous clips sparked widespread debates concerning consent and adherence to Twitch's content guidelines. The current shoplifting allegations have intensified the ongoing scrutiny of her online conduct, with many perceiving a concerning pattern of behavior. The lack of a direct response from Lin to any of these claims only seems to amplify the public's accusations.
