Elon Musk Intensifies Tesla Focus Amidst Sales Dip
Amidst a backdrop of weakening sales figures, particularly in Europe, Elon Musk is intensifying his focus on Tesla, SpaceX, and X. Tesla's EV registrations plummeted by 49% in Europe in April according to the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA).
Musk's Return to Tesla
This renewed commitment follows Musk's time in Washington, D.C., leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). He plans to spend his time working at Tesla, focusing on critical technologies and the upcoming Starship launch.
Robotaxi Developments
Tesla's robotaxi trials in Austin are slated for the end of July, marking a pivotal moment for the company's self-driving ambitions. The Cybercab launch is planned for 2026. Musk has expressed his intention to remain at Tesla for at least the next five years.
European Sales Decline
The sales decline in Europe comes despite the launch of the refreshed Model Y, and at a time when Volkswagen, BMW, and BYD are experiencing gains.
