Arrest Made in Grapevine Lake Jet Ski Hit-and-Run

A suspect has been arrested in connection with the tragic hit-and-run incident on Grapevine Lake that resulted in the death of Ava Moore, an 18-year-old graduate of Timber Creek High School.

The Incident

Ava Moore, a 2024 graduate and committed basketball player for the U.S. Air Force Academy Preparatory School, was struck by a jet ski while kayaking on Grapevine Lake on Sunday, May 25th. Authorities report that the jet ski operator fled the scene following the collision.

Victim's Background

Moore was scheduled to begin basic training at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. She had returned to North Texas to spend time with her family before commencing her training.
