Mandip Kaur, the mother of Gursimran Kaur, who was tragically killed in a Walmart oven in Canada, has shared her frustrations regarding the ongoing investigation.

Eighteen months after the horrifying incident, Mandip broke her silence, expressing her concerns about the lack of clarity in the probe. The Halifax Police initially dismissed any suspicious circumstances, while the Nova Scotia Department of Labour later concluded no safety violations in Gursimran's death, prompting Mandip to recount the distressing events.

Speaking to DailyMail, Mandip revealed that her daughter's remains were not found. 'Her body was not there. I could not see her,' she said.

On the night of October 19, 2024, both Mandip and her daughter were on shift. Mandip tried to reach her via text and phone but couldn't. She assumed her daughter was either assisting a customer or on break. However, after two managers informed her that they hadn't seen Gursimran for some time, they arrived at the bakery and found a 'black-brown liquid resembling tar' leaking from the oven. This liquid was identified as coming from Gursimran's body, which was discovered near the baking racks.

Mandip collapsed and was taken away as emergency responders arrived. Mandip expressed frustration that the investigators didn't explain how Gursimran ended up in the oven or how she couldn't escape. The mother believes her daughter did not end her life.

Gursimran was a happy and ambitious individual, planning to study medicine. Days after her death, a package was delivered, which Mandip said her daughter had ordered. After a service at their local gurdwara, the family returned to India, where Gursimran’s ashes were scattered. The Walmart location was closed for four months during renovations, with the bakery moved to another section of the store. The new ovens are not walk-ins.
