A cargo vessel named Morning Midas, transporting approximately 3,000 vehicles, including 800 electric vehicles, has sunk in international waters.

Incident Details

The ship experienced a fire earlier in June. The fire damage, compounded by challenging weather conditions, resulted in the vessel's sinking. The location of the incident was approximately 300 miles south of Adak, Alaska.

Aerial photographs of the burning ship were taken by a U.S. Coast Guard C-130J Super Hercules aircraft.
