Details of the Incident

The collapse occurred around 8 pm local time on Wednesday. The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) has dispatched over 100 personnel to 1701 N Figueroa St, the tunnel's only known access point.

Rescue Efforts

LAFD officials estimate the trapped workers may be as far as six miles south of the entry point. Specially trained search and rescue teams equipped for confined-space tunnel rescues are at the scene.
