Elon Musk pledges '24/7' work at X, Tesla, and SpaceX after a major X outage. He also plans to reduce his time at the Department of Government Efficiency.
Following a significant outage on the social media platform X, Elon Musk has committed to working around the clock, focusing on his various companies, including X, Tesla, and SpaceX. This announcement comes after a period of disruption that impacted a large number of users.
Musk emphasized his intense focus on 𝕏/xAI and Tesla, particularly with the upcoming Starship launch. He stated that there are critical technologies rolling out that require his full attention.
The recent X outage, which affected tens of thousands of users in the U.S. and worldwide, underscored the need for operational improvements. Musk acknowledged that failover redundancy should have worked but did not, necessitating immediate action.
While previously dedicating significant time to the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Musk plans to scale back his involvement. He aims to contribute one to two days a week, traveling to Washington D.C. every other week. DOGE has a goal to cut $2 trillion from the U.S. budget. Musk indicated his time reduction there comes as Tesla faces sales challenges.
